ABOUT ME

Hello! My name Marie Lyseggen.
I started my artistic journey as a photographer, but realized quickly that I had a need to expand my storytelling beyond stills. Today I write and shoot and direct, while I continue developing my voice as a woman and artist. My work often reflects themes of interpersonal relationships through the lens of young womanhood, sometimes with a touch of the otherworldly.

Having spent time in the art scenes of both Aarhus and Toronto, two widely different cities, heavily influences my work and perspectives. Connections, but even more so disconnections, to people and places around me, fuel my creativity and urge to tell stories.

I am always looking for poeple to connect with and projects to take part in. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!

How does metal and it’s immortality contrast with the finite nature of human existence? What makes human life meaningful in the face of its brevity? How do the stories of our ancestors, ingrained within us, shape our perception of the present, and which stories do we carry within us for the future?

The collaborative poem, crafted by writers, friends, and family worldwide, paired with experimental visuals invites viewers to ponder the enigmatic essence that lingers long after we're gone.
